The Napa Police Department warns residents to be on the lookout for a burglar who has been targeting homes in the Foster Road area. Three homes have been burglarized in the area since June 5, 2007, according to police records.
The most recent burglary happened on Saturday morning between 2:30-6:30 a.m. A burglar entered a residence on the 2500 block of Wimbledon Street through an open, ground-level window and took two laptop computers and other property, police said. The homeowners were home at the time of the burglary.
Napa Police Sgt. Pat Manzer said that residents can protect against burglary by locking their doors and ground-level windows. Residents should also watch for suspicious individuals in their neighborhoods — people who they don’t know or haven’t seen before.
“People need to be a little more vigilant,” he said.
Police said they believe Saturday’s burglar is the same one that’s responsible for two similar burglaries in the area. The burglar’s method of operation is entering homes in the early-morning hours when the residents are home and taking laptop computers, money, mp3 players, purses and other items. Anyone with information about the burglar is asked to contact the Napa Police Department at 253-4451.
