A Clearlake man lost his life early Sunday morning in a traffic wreck.

Candido Guzman, 64, was driving north on Highway 29, north of Tubbs Lane, at 2:18 a.m., in a 1994 Dodge Colt when he lost control of his vehicle. Guzman ran off the road and the vehicle overturned, according to the California Highway Patrol.
He was partially ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries when the vehicle rolled over, the CHP said. Guzman was wearing his seat belt at the time of the wreck and investigators are determining if drugs or alcohol played a role in the wreck, the CHP said.

Guzman becomes the 9th person in Napa County to have perished in a auto wreck.

" Dirty napkin, Seatbelts save lives all the time, probably at least hundreds of times a day, they work! They aren't going to save everybody in every wreck. You said "Another reason to not wear a seatbelt They don't work" I'm curious, you don't want to wear a seatbelt to save your life, fine, it's your life. Do you actually believe they don't work? What would be another reason for not wearing a seatbelt? "

" The better argument is that seatbelts cut down on the cost of uninsured hopitalizations for major injuries that may be minimized buy using seatbelts. The "Libertarian" argument that there should not be a law could be resolved by saying that if you are in an accident and not wearing your seatbelt, you will not be treated unless you post a bond for the total amount of your treatment first. That way my tax dollars aren't being used to subsidize stupidity. "

" Look at the stats. People get cut in half because of them. High school in Oregon had 3 teens cut in half by their seatbelts. I also thought I was allowed to say what I want in America. "

" Duier..... you have no idea what you are talking about.....haven't you noticed in every accident they always test for drugs and alcohol. He was on his way to work!!! Maybe next time you will think before you jump to conclusions and you open your mouth!!! "
