Dear editor,

I am a fifth-grade student at Napa Valley Language Academy. Our school has been helping an orphanage in Goma, Congo, Mama Jeanne’s Children’s Home, for three years. We have provided them with a water tank, electricity and a school building.
Unfortunately, there is a terrible war going on in Goma, right next door to the orphanage. We wish to continue helping them by raising the money to build a security wall and providing food for the children.

We can only do this with your support. Our students will be performing a concert on Friday, Dec. 5, at the District Auditorium to raise money for this important cause. You may come to the concert, “Turn the World Around,” at 6 p.m. or 7 p.m., or write a tax-deductible donation check to Be a Hero. You can drop it off or mail it to NVLA, 2700 Kilburn Ave., Napa, CA 94558. Thank you for any help you are willing to give.

" Thank you, Aubrey! NVLA has some of the poorest families in the district and they are reaching out to children living in a terrible situation across the world. The students have learned something about what these children in Goma have experienced and they have a beautiful heart for others. "
