Storm men's upset bid dashed in final minutes
The Napa Valley College men’s basketball team had the 12th-ranked team in Northern California on the ropes Friday, but couldn’t deliver the knockout punch. San Jose City College outscored the Storm 19-3 down the stretch to prevail, 66-59, in the first round of the James Clark Memorial Tournament at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento.

The Braves trailed Petaluma just 18-15 midway through Thursday’s opener at the Napa High Tournament, but managed only three points in the third quarter. Jordan Tang and Lacey Orona led their scoring with 10 and 9 points, respectively, Ashley Ford added five points and Bridget Flynn grabbed seven rebounds.
