10:30 a.m.Many St. Helena residents are working to convince the local school board to reconsider its choice on hiring a new school district superintendent.

The St. Helena Star has been reporting on the process to replace outgoing superintendent Allan Gordon and the school board's decision to bypass a search for a replacement, choosing instead to turn to assistant superintendent Robert Haley.
In today's Star there are numerous letters to the editor from residents encouraging an open search for a new school district leader.

The school district was to meet in closed session, according to the Star, to finalize plans to promote Haley, but that meeting has been delayed "until next week at the earliest," the Star notes.

" Pretty funny, there's a BIG public outcry but no one yet posting furiously in anger and horror on this article.

I'll predict now ... St. Helena will reverse themselves, spend thousands on a search and still pick the same guy. "
