" Shouldn't he have gone to jail, instead of being released, after being treated for his cut? "

" Apparently, the police's suspicion was unjustified. "

" Wow, some people really can't read! The beginning of the article says he was arrested. Then it says released, but into custody, if you read between the lines. Maybe they should've put that part in there, but come on, readers. "

" Darn, it must have been hard to do the "Crash and Dash" with that cut on his knee...oh well, better luck next week. "

" Hello...hawkeye...where is the word "custody"?
I could agree with you on what really happened...it was just a comment on how it read, was written, and suggest you do the same. "

" I know that there can be an issue about taking someone into custody when they are in the hospital, because then they become responsible for his bills hospital bills while he is in custody. That's why they oftentimes wait to arrest someone until they are 'released' from the hospital.

I don't know if that's what happened here. I've been told here that I'm not intelligent. "

" It doesn't say custody, but the word "arrested", which is clearly in the article suggests that he was taken into custody at some point. Whether it was before he was released from the hospital or after. They would not have let a DUI go free, no way. But yeah, the article did read strangely on the surface. That's what I meant by reading between the lines. "
