Thinking about a kitchen or bath remodel? NV Design Studios opened at 1506 Main St. this week, and the staff there can take care of everything. Owner Christine Teichera started in the business 10 years ago, in the plumbing department at Home Depot.
From there, she graduated to high-end specialty showrooms and later became a product representative. As a result, she knows this business from the ground, rather underground, up. NV Design Studios offers one-stop shopping for cabinets, lighting, tiles, plumbing, appliances and counter tops. Hiring a designer to tackle your remodel means, among other things, that you’ll get a consistent look in your home. By using Teichera, you’ll get a great look. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., or by appointment. Call 251-5598.
And the award goes to...
Anette’s Chocolates, on First Street in downtown Napa, is proud to announce that its Triple Nut Kentucky Bourbon Brittle is a silver finalist in the prestigious 37th annual sofi Awards competition. This amazing brittle, made with almonds, pistachios, pecans and a smooth Kentucky bourbon, will vie for the gold this summer at the Fancy Food sofi in New York City. Sofi stands for Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation. The Sofi awards, considered the Oscars of the specialty food trade, recognize outstanding specialty foods and beverages in 33 categories. Anette’s is hoping to take home the gold in the Outstanding Snack Food Category. As a silver finalist, Anette’s receives a silver trophy in the shape of a chef.
This is not the first time Anette’s has been in contention for Sofi’s golden chef. In past years, Anette’s has won the gold with Micro Brew Beer Brittle and twice with the Micro Brew Fiery Beer Brittle. Open seven days a week, also in the Oxbow Public Market.
World renowned artist on display
Quent Cordair Fine Art announces that it is now representing world-renowned still-life painter Thomas Arvid. A collection of Arvid’s work will be on constant display in the downtown Napa gallery on First Street at the corner of Randolph. Arvid is most known for his oversized still-life compositions of wine and the rituals surrounding its consumption. Arvid’s images astound viewers with their intricate details and his mastery of light, depth and reflection. Arvid is pleased to have joined the family of artists at Quent Cordair Fine Art, saying, “My paintings speak to the special moments that people share when they share wine. Life without art is like dinner without wine. Why bother?”
The gallery is open every day except Tuesday and anytime by private appointment. Call 255-2242.
See you downtown!
