Using an underwater search vehicle, Napa County Sheriff’s divers recovered the body Thursday of a 36-year-old Dixon man who drowned Sunday while boating with his family at Lake Berryessa.

Divers retrieved the body of Clint Rasmussen from a depth of 100 feet in the vicinity of Steele Canyon, Sheriff’s Lt. Tracey Stuart said.
Rasmussen apparently hit his head while doing a back flip from his boat, Stuart said. His wife and two children were on the boat at the time, she said.

Divers identified the likely location of the body Wednesday using a sonar device, Stuart said. An unmanned search vehicle borrowed from Shasta County confirmed the location Thursday.
The recovery occurred in the area where the accident happened, Stuart said.

" Many thanks and congratulations on a good job to the Napa Sheriff's Department and others for finding this person so his family can have closure. I know it wasn't easy given the depth of water involved and lack of knowledge about the exact whereabouts the incident took place. "

" Thanks to everyone for all of your thoughts and prayers. The Napa County Sheriff's office is absolutely amazing! The communication that the dive team, as well as the officers, has kept with me is unbelieveable. I can not express enough how greatful we all are. Today when I got the news, for a brief second, I felt my heart at peace. Clint was a great daddy to his kids and an amazing husband. He always kept me laughing and I have memories that I will cherish forever. Thank you to everyone, especially the divers. Again, I can't express my thanks enough.

" Wow, so overwhelming. Clint called my parents the Gummer's, so Gummer mom is a perfect name. Clint had such a love for life. He was a joker, and if you tried to get him back he didn't get mad, he got even. I know he didn't show his mushy side to everyone, but I'm glad that he was able to share it with me.

All of the flowers, cards, donations, food, etc lets me know that there are still good people in this world, and I thank all of you for that. Clint died with a smile on his face. His last words to me were, "Hey Jen, watch me do a back flip!", it's a tragedy that those were his last, but I'm glad they were said to me. I can't imagine what life has in store for me, but it is a blessing to know I have all of you supporting me and being the friends and family that Clint and I together have gotten to know and love. The kids are holding up ok, they have their moments. We are trying to keep them busy and sometimes it works and sometimes not so much. His obituary is still in the works. Thanks for all of the love, I can't again, tell you how truly greatful we are.

A memorial service will be held Saturday August 1st at 1:00pm at the McCune Garden Chapel 212 Main St. in Vacaville. A reception will follow at the Three Oaks Community Center on Alamo. "
