Bank robbery try in American Canyon

1:40 p.m., mapPolice began responding just before 1:30 p.m. today to a report of an attempted bank robbery at the Westamerica Bank branch on Broadway in American Canyon.

Police are searching the area for a black male, 5-foot-9, slim build with a shaved head, wearing a black trenchcoat, black pants and a black backpack with brown suede on it.
A witness reported seeing the subject head on foot northbound on James Road. Police are searching that area right now.
