Local law enforcement officials are looking for a man who robbed the Westamerica Bank branch on Broadway in American Canyon Monday.

A black man entered the bank, at 3421 Broadway, at about 1:30 p.m. and handed the teller a note, according to American Canyon Police Chief Brian Banducci. The teller didn’t see a weapon. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money, and the man left the bank on foot.
He is described as 5 foot 9 or 10 inches tall, probably in his early 20s, with a slim build and a shaved head, Banducci said. He was wearing a black trench coat that came to about mid-thigh, a white polo shirt, jeans and white shoes with black on the tops. The man was carrying a black backpack with a brown leather triangle on the back.

California Highway Patrol airplane and canine units swept the area. The Napa County Sheriff’s Office also responded, but the suspect is still at large.
The bank closed while police investigated and conducted interviews.

The suspect left the note behind, which was booked into evidence.

" What color was his skin? That would help with limiting the possiblities of who this person is. Doesn't sound like he was wearing a mask "
