An Antioch man was arrested for suspected drug possession following a traffic stop in American Canyon early Wednesday.

An American Canyon Police Officer stopped Mike Holloway, 42, on Donaldson Way for not having brake lights, according to  American Canyon police.
The officer contacted Holloway, who consented to a vehicle search. He found methamphetamine on Holloway, police said.

The passenger also had an outstanding out-of-county warrant and was taken into custody, police said.

" as usual I dont understand the need to search your car when they stop you for something like that. If you say no to protect your rights, they'll hold you till a drug dog shows up. Hold you for brake lights???? "

" In all fairness the guy had an outstanding warrant, which I guess doesn't technically give them a right to search the car, unless he is on search and seizure probation, or it was a drug related warrant. The tow yard would have inventoried the car anyway, and may or may not have found the contraband... otherwise I would agree dexter... "

" Ya, the meth made the lights go out? Come on, they stopped the car for no brake lights. If they stopped me I,d say NO. They would'nt find anything, but, they don't need to search my car because the brake lights did'nt work! How would you like that. "
