The staff was afraid of the patient that started this and could not protect the patient that ultimately did the stabbing. If I was in a situation like this and knew no one could stop this guy from harrasing me, I would protect myself as well. This is on the staff for not forseeing these kinds of problems considering the condition of the folks they look after at this place. Ultimately the hospital waited for Napa PD to respond to stop this, that is ridiculous! "

" I used to work for the state a few years back behind the fence where the criminal insane patients are. Unfortenetly its true too many small staff & they have to wait to set off an alarm too recieve extra help from nearby programs. It be nice if the state can afford some kind of security on the unit since the only thing you have for protection is an alarm. Unfortenetly state has money problems and that won't be happening. Also staff their are mandated alot forced to work over time. They're tired.

Personatly I think that the building is old and should start thinking of closing down since a lot of incedents have already occured. Unfortunatly alot of people will loose their jobs but hey I rather loose my job then end up with brain damage or who knows. "
