Police are looking for a man suspected of robbing the American Canyon Subway restaurant Thursday.

At about 3:50 p.m., the man entered the restaurant, displayed a weapon and tied up a store clerk, said American Canyon Police Chief Brian Banducci.
He took an unknown amount of cash and fled west through the shopping center plaza, located on the 3400 block of Broadway Street, he said.

The man was reportedly spotted about 30 minutes prior to the robbery in the parking lot area, near two children playing football, Banducci said.
He is described as a light-skinned male, in his late teens or early 20s with a medium build. He was wearing baggy blue jeans and a dark sweatshirt.

Officers set up a perimeter and searched the area after the report came in; however, they have been unable to find the suspect, Banducci said.
“We checked possible suspects, but none of them matched,” he said.

Napa County Sheriff’s Office investigators, who have taken over the case, are asking anyone with any information to contact Detective Walt Mazar at 253-6031.

" The suspect is "a light-skinned male". Does that mean we should be on the lookout for a pale redhead? "
