A man was arrested Wednesday after Napa police officers stopped him while he was riding his bike.

Officers responded at 12:15 p.m. to the report of a suspicious person on the 2500 block of Old Sonoma Road.
They contacted Salvador Gutierrez Velazquez, 27, who they found was on probation, police said.

Officers searched him and found a small amount of suspected methamphetamine. They also noticed he was showing signs of being under the influence of drugs.
He was booked at Napa County Department of Corrections on suspicion of drug possession, being under the influence of drugs and violation of probation.

" No way, not meth! What is it with tweakers and bikes? The cops are getting good at picking them out. Great work Napa PD! Meth, the new crack! "

" So, if I feel that someone is suspicious, I can call the cops, let them check it out for me. No probable cause other than my opinion? "

" It is just as easy to spot a tweaker as it is a fall down drunk. Especially for cops. "
