I think we are giving the gangs too much influence over whats acceptable for the rest of the youth.
If a group of gang members all of a sudden decides to wear shirts with US flags on them, the "Old Red, White and Blue", are the rest of us going to have to stop showing our patriotism because we could be labeled as part of a gang?
I think it's pretty sad that we have to worry about our kids not wearing 'red' in a "Blue" neighborhood, or visa versa, but now they can't wear a fan t-shirt either in fear of being labeled. "

Now they can be known as Wolf Gangs and start cooking and then throwing food at each other.
...then just add Puck!

So what are colors and mascot? The wolf and Gold and Black with Green and White.
Great way to build trust between the students and adminstration at a new school "

The schools let the kids wear whatever they want (like at my highschool) and your child wears clothing gang members find offending (red, blue etc.) and shoot your kid for it (again, happened at my school). Then you would be blaming the school for not informing the parents that these are gang colors and asking the school why on earth would you not tell us and let children wear that to school if you knew it was dangerous? Having the knowledge and not acting on it can make the schools liable. Do you think they have money for lawsuits when they cannot afford books? I would rather be frustrated and have to explain to my child rather than attend his funeral because he wore a certain color shirt. We can't legally shoot gang members on site, so until we can this is probably the best option. "

What is the explanation for the color change (wolfs are often shades of gray)?
In regards to the nation's colors...
"it's pretty sad that we have to worry about...not wearing 'red' in a "Blue" neighborhood, or visa versa..."
...in some instances, it is the adults who have mimicked the "gangs" (at public forums regarding healthcare); have you noticed the rude behavior of some who claim they care patriotic? "

On the other hand, wolves are good. There was a possibility there to honor our local fauna -- coyotes? I suppose that has a bad connotation though.
So, bring back the wolves! (I just watched the Ken Burns National Parks series.)
I'm glad some of the middle school students got to weigh in too. "
