A Richmond woman who is accused of attempting to stab her son in American Canyon was arrested Sunday.

American Canyon Police found that Alma Marie Brown, 47, had gotten in an argument with her son at about 10:30 a.m. It turned physical, and Brown took a steak knife and tried to stab him, police said.
He took off running, and when she couldn’t catch him, she threw the knife at him, police said.

Brown was arrested and booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections.

" Forevernapan American Canyon is part of the Napa County and all people who are arrested most likely will all come to the Napa County Jail. Calistoga and Saint Helena have their own holding cells but depending on the crime the city officers will bring the criminal to the Napa County Jail. "

" Maybe because American Canyon is in Napa County and there are zero jails in American Canyon. American Canyon is getting its first high school this year. Maybe next year we can get our own jail! and after than maybe our own DUI list! "

It seems like most of Napas criminals are in American Canyon, is there something funny in the water or what?

I hope this kid is ok . "

Sounds like Mom needs therapy and medication. I've raise a son who ran me around the flag pole quite a few times, but good grief! I never tried (or WANTED) to stab him! He turned out all right, like I raised him to, and owns his own business and all, now, so I'm so glad I didn't kill him! Ha! "

Maybe narcotics played a rule or a mental disorder bc that is sick, even at that NOT OKAY! I heard Dr Phil is traveling in his new season, maybe he can pay her a visit on parenting skills! "

" Say, can anyone tell me why the guy was brought to the Napa County Jail? JUST KIDDING!

Anyway, this is just another lovely tale in the saga of how Napa will eventually become like Vallejo...a big town with way too much crime and urban strife. American Canyon is the link drawing the two together with each passing day. Bummer, huh? "

wonkagirl wrote on Oct 8, 2009 11:33 AM:

" First of all , NVR needs to stick to their guidelines. Everyone pretty much was attacking "forevernapan" on not knowing that AmCan is part of the county. I personally would have thought Vallejo, but whatever.

As for the article, can the stories be complete? What did the son do to provoke his mother? How old is the son? Is she a single mother? Was there anyone else in the house? Does she have other children? These are all important facts that could maybe give an idea of why she would chase her kid with a knife. I'm not judging her parenting skills or lack there of, but nowadays, kids are taking the law into their own hands. Dr.Phil might be able to help. I don't think anyone should have been arrested until there was further investigation. Maybe it was a different object and the son wanted to get the mom arrested.
I hope it all gets worked out. Before the attacks come at me, I'm a mother of 3 and married. I've chased my kids around with worse objects and their all fine. LOL. "

" American Canyon basically is North Vallejo. The two cities are less than a inch apart. It's too bad that AC can't become part of Solano county. "
