4:15 p.m.A days-old baby boy survived a rollover crash on Highway 29 Wednesday.

Vallejo resident Eva Toral, 29, was driving a 2000 Toyota Camry south on the highway north of Highway 121 at about 12:08 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. For unknown reasons, the car drifted off the right shoulder of the road and rolled, the CHP said.
The baby -- taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center by Piners Ambulance for a medical check -- was in a car seat that was installed correctly, saving his life, the CHP said. Toral was treated for minor injuries.

The CHP asks parents to always drive with young children in a car seat. The Napa County office does free weekly inspections of car seats to make sure they are installed and used correctly.

" God I love happy endings and mothers who have their children safely fastened in car seats. Speedy recovery to Ms. Toral and congratulations on your new baby boy! "

" thank's to the new mother to take good care of the baby. I know people that just because their baby's cry when they are driving they hold the baby's on arms wile some one else is driving. that is not right.. "

" Glad the little guy made it. Car seats do save lives. It may be a hassle getting the car seat fastened and getting the child in and out, but it's worth it. "

" Best news reported in months. Thanks God the baby is ok. When will the plans be submitted for all of 29 to have underpasses going west and east and 29 above the streets? "

" Right with you, justmeandyou! Our son HATED his car seat and screamed mercilessly until he was removed from it - when we transferred to San Diego, we drove cross country with him screaming, stopping frequently of course for comforting, feeding, and changing. It took a long time!! Texas was horrible; 3 days! Parents, keep those kids in their seats! "

" Glad to hear this child is safe.

Funny to read a couple headlines lately with odd hyphenated descriptions. Days-old? what happened to words like "newborn", "infant" or just plain old "baby"? "
