Two young men went to jail on drug-related counts after an encounter with Napa police Wednesday.

At 6:43 p.m., Napa police stopped Napa resident Eric James Myers, 24, as he was walking away from a parked vehicle in the area of Fourth and Even streets.
He appeared to be under the influence of drugs, police said.

The vehicle Myers got out of left the scene and was stopped for a vehicle code violation.
The driver, Napa resident Shaun Beauford, 18, consented to a search. Officers found one pill suspected to be a narcotic, police said.

Myers and Beauford was also arrested, and the two men were booked at the Napa County Department of Corrections.

" This reminds me of a story I heard about Texas cops. Seems they pulled over a VW van in the 60s, and since there was a hippie driving it, they began an extensive search for drugs. After a while, they found a marijuana seed, and arrested the hippie, cuffed him, and tossed him in the back of a car.

A few hours later, the cops found anOTHER seed, and the cops said " Yep, looks like we got us a 'PUSHER'. " "

" Kudos to law inforcement for getting these dangerous criminals off the street. Did they use the SWAT team, or lure them out of the house with the promise of munchies? "

" Nothing more heart breaking than seeing my own sons name in the paper for a drug arrest! He was walking home. Not condoning his drug use in fact that part is devasting. I don't understand exactly what was happening it seems pretty evident that these two young men do drugs but my son had no drugs on him and was not selling drugs. I would love to see a copy of the arrest report. I hope getting arrested opens his eyes and encourages him to get help. "

" "jlloyd" I'm sorry to see your comment. Please, please, please let him get educated on narcotic medications and narcotic drugs...turns into a deadly addiction...I hope he just had a back ache or something and got something for it from a friend. That doesn't mean he's an addict but those pain meds and muscle relaxers are highly addictive pretty much from the start. If you need more information, please let me know; I will help! Take Care. "
