A bicycle stop in Napa led to a drug arrest Wednesday.

Napa police stopped Peter Schotte, 41, in the area of Freeway Drive and Elm Street, police said.
He gave officers a false name and appeared to be attempting to swallow something, which officers suspected was a drug, police said.

Schotte refused to cooperate, and officers restrained him, police said.
He ultimately spit out a plastic bag containing methamphetamine.

After they properly identified him, officers discovered Schotte was on probation.
He was arrested on suspicion of drug possession, violation of probation, resisting arrest and providing false information to a peace officer. Officers booked him at the Napa County Department of Corrections.
