A Napa man released from jail on his own recognizance was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drunk driving Tuesday.

Napa Police officers stopped Robert Barra, 41, on the 2400 block of Old Sonoma Road at about 8:10 a.m. for a vehicle code violation, police said.
He showed signs of being under the influence and was arrested on suspicion of violation of a release agreement, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and being under the influence drugs.

" I don't get it. Was he released from jail and then found to be driving drunk the same morning? What was the original charge he was arrested for? If it was DUI, was he released while still intoxicated or did he become intoxicated after being released? People aren't usually picked up for DUI at 8 in the morning.

NVR, do you have more info on this story? "

" JustMyyOpinion, it IS hard to figure out what happened from this article, isn't it ?

I think sometimes that the NVR gets so excited about a headline that can have those three letters in it (DUI) that the article becomes secondary. But maybe that's not it, because there seem to be more and more articles here that create more questions than they answer.

But at least they got to exclaim DUI ! "

" Is the Napa Register getting so thin that they now have to have a special article for every DUI? What happened with listing all DUI's for the month at the end of the month? Wonder why the circulation is down for the Napa Register! "

" Whomever let him out of Jail with a BAC over .08 should lose their job over this. "

" An article about a single DUI bodes well for our community.
A city such as Oakland would love to print such a minor infaction as big news. "

" Moderators here have repeatedly stated that DUI convictions only would be published, not arrests. The NVR is violating their own policy. "

Ditto for me, NVR, (or is that I for two?). Keep up the good work!
If people object to your reporting, maybe they'd agree to do a month's interning and show/tell you how it should be done. "
