How 'bout the football player - whose name escapes me - that got 30 DAYS for killing a guy while intoxicated ... 30 DAYS ... you gotta be kidding me.
As the saying goes - it's not what you know, but WHO you know! "

However, that being said, Dylan needs to experience the full penalty for his actions. I understand that jail isnt a "nice" place and that 12 years is a long time - well guess what dead isnt a nice place either and forever is even longer!!!
His father needs to let Dylan sit in jail and spend the next 4,380 days thinking about how irresponsible he was in getting behind the wheel that night. (As painful as it might be) That is 4,380 more days than the Ruiz Family will get with their son! Dylan needs to realize he could have killed a LOT of people that night, including himself! I understand that amount of time may seem aweful for a 19 year old however he did something senseless and equally as aweful. "

I knew right away that this wasn't an article written by the NVR, but was instead written for them. The headline didn't scream "DUI !!!". "

this 19 year old man, dylan morse drank and then got in his car and drove through an intersection. he made those decisions freely. decisions which have consequences, death and jail. alex ruiz is dead. dylan morse killed him. spending 12 years in jail is nothing compared to being dead.
judge ken knoss, please do not give in to pressure. judge knoss please do not reconsider his sentence. what would you do if mr. ruiz was your son? what is this telling other people? "

Twelve years for killing someone and maiming an innocent passenger?
Obviously, Daddy feels his influence is strong enough to get the sentence changed. It would seem that there is one law for some and another for those with money, influence and the power to manipulate the legal system.
Yes, this young man made a bad mistake, very sad for his family, but for that he should pay. These lives cannot be made good again; his at least, can be repaired and re-routed. "
