Prep Girls Golf: Napa 10th at Masters Tournament

Napa High’s 10th-place finish and a score of 484 at the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Masters Girls Golf Championships at The Reserve at Spanos Park Monday was a 28-stroke improvement over the previous week.

Last week: Clear Lake defeated Upper Lake 42-0, led by running back Kevin Burt’s 209 yards rushing on just 14 carries, including a 98-yarder to paydirt. The Saints lost 42-0 to St. Vincent-Petaluma.

Last week: Vintage lost to Vacaville, 56-7. Armijo lost to Wood, 42-18.

All-Justin final in MCAL girls tennis

It was an all-Justin-Siena final in the No. 2 singles bracket of the Marin County Athletic League Girls Tennis Championships Wednesday, with No. 2 seed Rachel Carston defeating No. 3 seed Kelsea Thomas, 6-2, 6-4.

Round Valley cancels game with Calistoga High

Friday’s rescheduled varsity football game between Calistoga High and Round Valley (Covelo) has been deemed a forfeit win in Calistoga’s favor, Calistoga High athletic director Jake Blakeley and varsity football head coach Mike Ervin confirmed on Monday and Wednesday, respectively.

Perfect mark for Napa

It seemed to take the Napa High volleyball team a couple of games to find its groove Wednesday night, and for good reason.

Napa Valley College lost its first match of the Bay Valley Conference season Wednesday night, falling 3-1 to Yuba-Marysville. Napa Valley won the first game, 26-24, but lost the next three games, 25-23, 25-15, 25-14.
