Mammography at Queen of the Valley gets 3-year accreditation
Queen of the Valley Medical Center has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in mammography as a result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology.
“We are pleased to receive this affirmation of our professional qualifications, technological capabilities, clinical quality, customer service and reporting accuracy,” said Jill Vohs, director, imaging and radiation oncology. “This most recent accreditation is a testament to the dedication and skill of physicians, nurses and technologists and other professionals at the Queen who identify and treat breast disease.”
The college, in Reston, Va., awards accreditation to facilities for achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of the practice.
The college is a national organization serving more than 32,000 diagnostic and interventional radiologists and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and delivery of comprehensive health care services.
The Queen has accreditation from the college for MRI and is working toward accreditation for CT and PET/CT for the newly installed PET/CT scanner.
