Reviving the tradition of the Welcome Wagon

Dear editor, Napa Valley merchants and small business owners created a “welcome wagon” for new homeowners who just recently purchased their home in the Napa Valley.

A welcome wagon is an old American tradition. In times when Europeans came to United States, residents and merchants created gift baskets with all home-baked pies, fresh eggs and other various goodies for the new settlers.
Still today, our new residents were excited and grateful when we provided them with gifts. Merchants encourage the newcomers to check out their services and businesses. They generously provide breakfast and dinner, as well as free membership to the gym, free life coaching, free hypnotic therapy sessions and much more. For information on how to participate in Welcome Wagon efforts, call Christine Hannah at 257-6000.
