After hosting a pop-up shop since late January, First Street Napa’s newest retailer, State & First by Maris Collective, has officially opened for business.

The “global lifestyle and luxury fashion destination retailer” has leased 2,000 square feet facing First Street, underneath the Archer Napa hotel.

“There is a lot growth happening in downtown and we wanted to be a part of that,” said Maris Collective Regional Director Christina Walton.

Located at 1214 First St., the store sells jewelry, clothing, handbags, accessories, candles, barware and more, said Walton.

“We want to offer something for every client that walks in the door,” she said.

At the same time, State & First by Maris Collective brands itself as an upscale retailer. Candles start at $50, jewelry at $99, clothing at $79 and handbags at $199, she said.

This is the second Maris Collective store in Napa County. The first, COOP, is located at the Carneros Resort and Spa.

That store is different than the downtown Napa Maris Collective retailer, said Walton. COOP carries more “resort” type items such as swimsuits and caftans, she said.

State & First will carry more ready-to-wear clothing that a visitor to downtown Napa would need.

Brands and designers include MAC Apparel, Golden Goose, Leofler Randall, Clare V, Figue, Farmhouse Pottery, Mark Schneider, Tobi Tobin, Simon Hasan, Truss, Laurence Brabant Editions, Hiro Clark, Manda Heath, SHAUNS and The Great.

Maris Collective has 41 stores in luxury hotels and resorts around the world, said Walton.
