V. Sattui Winery has a new senior executive, John W. Winkelhaus, II. He will be vice president, operations and general manager, said winery President Tom Davies.

“John will utilize his considerable experience in management and sales to develop innovative programs that will enable us to implement the new marketing plans, which he will also assist the company to develop, as we look to increase our market-share,” Davies said.

During his career, Winkelhaus served in a variety of executive management roles for 15 years at Ingram Micro, Inc., the world’s largest wholesale distributor of microcomputer products. He has been president of Ingram Micro Europe (Brussels, Belgium); executive vice President Ingram Micro, Inc.; and senior vice president, sales of Micro D., Inc. (the predecessor company to Ingram Micro).

His interests in wine led him to move to Napa in 1998 with his three children. He purchased a small ranch and developed Second Chance Vineyards, where he grows premium cabernet sauvignon grapes on a California Certified Organic Farm.
