The Napa County Office of Education (NCOE) has been chosen as one of the recipients of the state’s "leading educational honor," the Golden Bell Award. The Golden Bell Award is sponsored by the California School Boards Association. The award recognizes outstanding programs in public schools.

The NCOE received the award at a ceremony on Nov. 3 in San Diego.

NCOE’s Mariposa Program was awarded the Golden Bell and Apple for Excellence Award in the County Offices of Education category.

In the category of Professional Development and Teacher Recruitment/Retention NCOE’s Teacher Leadership Collaborative program was recognized with a Golden Bell award and the $1,000 sponsor prize.
