The Napa Chamber of Commerce and its Board of Directors unanimously voted to prioritize a renewed focus of the organization’s advocacy outreach efforts with the formation of the Government Affairs and Policies Committee (GAP).
The purpose of GAP remains to identify, study and analyze legislative and public policy issues concerning the business community, as well as matters affecting the future social and economic progress of the city and county.
The GAP Committee replaces the former NCC Legislative Action Committee.
Jim Krider, former longtime Napa City Council member and Planning Commissioner, will serve as committee chair, and NCC Board members John Evans (Silverado Resort and Spa), Paul Hicks (Payroll Masters), Mike Murray (Napa Recycling and Waste), Kevin Teague (Holman Teague Roche Anglin) and Greg Cole will all participate as committee members and advisers.
Local business leaders were nominated for committee spots after being nominated by their industry peers.
A total of 16 NCC members were then selected, vetted and approved by the Board.
A big ‘thank you’ to NCC members Greg Brun and Scott Goldie (Brooks Street/NV Wine Train), Dr. Andrea Clarke (Kaiser Permanente), Michael Collins (GM, Archer hotel), Alonso Corona (President, Greene’s Cleaners), Debra Dommen (Vice President Government and Industry Affairs, Treasury Wine Estates), Adam Ghisletta (Berkshire Hathaway), Dave Graham (Co-Founder/CEO Latitude 38 Entertainment), Elizabeth Healy (Assistant Vice President, Government/Community Relations, The Doctors Company), Ron Kraft (President, Napa Valley College), Holly Krassner-Dawson (Founder/CEO, NapaValleyKid.com), Tom LeMasters (President, Bank of Napa), Michael Holcomb (Strong & Hayden), Judy James (Director of Government Affairs, Comcast); John Salmon (Upstream Investments), Rex Stults (Director, Industry Relations, Napa Valley Vintners) and Mark Van Gorder (Public Affairs, Pacific Gas and Electric).
The group held its first introductory meeting two weeks ago and will gather monthly.
