Congratulations to Napa Chamber members Comcast and Aegis Living, our randomly selected winners of VIP tickets to see Big Bad Voodoo Daddy at the Wine Train “Rock the Rails” Concert Series.

We appreciate the 150-plus members who’ve joined and renewed over the past three months. The support and enthusiasm resulting from plenty of hard work by the Chamber staff, board of directors, ambassadors and volunteers is very much appreciated.

Other past winner experiences include Garth Brooks, Bon Jovi, Bruno Mars, BottleRock, Tim McGraw/Faith Hill and yes, even the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors to, name a few.

Stay connected to napachamber.com for more great member incentives and opportunities.

Thursday night’s show is the first year of three in this “wine, dine and train ride” music series – all to benefit the Rail Arts District (RAD Napa).

It’s not too late to join us, as few tickets remain. Go to winetrain.com for details and tickets.

NCC members receive a 25 percent discount on tickets purchased on NapaChamber.com.

Future shows feature Sheila E and David Pack’s Legends (Ambrosia, Kansas and The Romantics).

This is another small example of how new Wine Train partners Scott Goldie and Greg Brun of Brooks Street have engaged, connected and collaborated with us from the first day they became owners – along with Noble House Hotels and Resorts — and I’m excited about their commitment to improve the quality of life for all of us who live, work and play here in the valley.

Velo and the Vine Trail:

Still not sure how my wife got me off the man cave sofa on a family bike ride last Sunday, but I’m glad she did. I hadn’t been on a non-stationary bike in at least 30 years.

It was a great Sunday family outing, and I had the pleasure of meeting Jake Scheideman, new member and owner of Napa Valley Velo.

I’d heard great things before his arrival but couldn’t believe how he jumped right in to engage with us — inviting us to co-host his grand opening, and immediately lending his passionate and vocal support of all things Chamber.

He’s not afraid to let other business know why they need to invest in the Chamber.

Jake serves on the board of directors for the Vine Trail, and is also founder/executive director of Developing Communities, a nonprofit focused on providing community infrastructure and programs in Empalme de Boaco, Nicaragua.

Thank you, Jake, and welcome to Napa.

Speaking of the Vine Trail:

Kudos to the Napa Vine Trail Coalition. My family enjoyed our beautiful ride on the trail so much I was inspired to purchase a bike and commit to taking many more family rides.

Our stop for fuel at St. Clair Brown was definitely a highlight. Thank you, Elaine St. Clair, for the fresh lemonade, tea and hors d’oeuvres.

Fashion and fun for a good cause:

Boho Lifestyle is hosting a fundraiser fashion show benefiting Teens Connect, Whiskers Tails and Ferals and Connolly Ranch.
