A stolen minivan was found abandoned and on fire early Saturday morning on Butts Canyon Road south of Snell Valley Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Honda Odyssey had been stolen during the night in Lake County, CHP Officer Joseph Duncan said.

Awakened by their dogs, nearby residents reported the incident after seeing a glow from the roadway, Duncan said.

CalFire/Napa County Fire was alerted at 5:44 a.m., Battalion Chief Jeremy Lawson said. Responding firefighters found the vehicle engulfed in flames and put the fire out in about 10 minutes, Lawson said.

The incident is under investigation.
