A man was arrested at about 7:30 a.m. Saturday near Foothill Boulevard and Petrified Forest Road in Calistoga on suspicion of being in possession of Vicodin and Hydrocodone for which he did not have prescriptions, according to the Calistoga Police Department.

John Doe, 50, a transient, was hitchhiking, police said.

Doe was booked into the Napa County jail on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, police said.
