A motorist was arrested Tuesday evening on suspicion of driving under the influence of a drug and hit-and-run after he allegedly caused a crash at about 9:45 p.m. on southbound Highway 29 near American Canyon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Lane Cuneo, 23, of Oakland, allegedly fled the scene in a 2013 Camry before stopping south of Tower Road, according to the CHP. Cuneo is also suspected of being in possession of Valium for which he did not have a prescription, CHP Officer Jake Ramos said.

The other vehicle, driven by Christina Pellecer, 24, of Vallejo, overturned into a ditch, according to the American Canyon Fire Department and the CHP.

The driver denied medical care and was not transported to the hospital, American Canyon Fire Department Fire Chief Glen Weeks said.

Cuneo was booked into the Napa County jail.
