A man and a woman were arrested Wednesday at a house on Condor Court in American Canyon after Napa Special Investigations Bureau agents found 843 marijuana plants growing inside the residence, according to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office.
NSIB agents and American Canyon Police officers found an “extensive, hydroponic marijuana cultivation processing center” during a search warrant executed at about 7:30 p.m., Sheriff’s Capt. Tracey Stuart said. The suspects — Gordon Don Mui, 46, and Caizhu Xu, both of San Francisco — allegedly had performed an electric bypass to avoid detection and utility charges, she said. This type of marijuana cultivation requires an “extreme” amount of power for dozens of lights and a continuously operating ventilation system, she said.
Agents found 843, 2-inch-tall marijuana plants and more than $1,500 from suspected marijuana sales, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Mui and Xu were booked into the Napa County jail on suspicion of marijuana cultivation, possession of marijuana for sale and theft of utility services, Stuart said.
