A Santa Rosa man was arrested early Friday morning on suspicion of drug possession outside an American Canyon shopping center, according to police.

At 2:11 a.m., an American Canyon police officer patrolling the Walmart Supercenter parking lot saw a man masturbating inside a parked pickup truck, according to Sgt. Jon Crawford of the Napa County Sheriff’s office.

After ordering the man to step out of the vehicle, the officer found a marijuana pipe, less than an ounce of marijuana, suspected methamphetamine and a Honda generator whose serial number indicated it had been stolen in New York state, Crawford said.

Police arrested the occupant, 54-year-old Mark Andre Brittain, on suspicion of marijuana and methamphetamine possession, receiving stolen property and possessing drug paraphernalia. He was not held on suspicion of indecent exposure because that charge requires a citizen complaint in California, according to Crawford.

Brittain was booked into the Napa County jail.
