A Vallejo man was arrested on illegal firearm and drug-related allegations Thursday evening after a vehicle crash in American Canyon, according to authorities.

At 7:49 p.m., American Canyon police responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury collision in the 5000 block of Main Street, according to Napa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jon Crawford. A 15-year-old boy in one of the vehicles ran from the scene but was detained across the street. Police found him with a black bag containing a gun, marijuana and a scale, Crawford said.

Afterward, officers arrested 21-year-old Henry Emerson Gonzalez, who Crawford said had been in the same vehicle as the teenager. They had been on their way to meet the boy’s friends in American Canyon for a possible marijuana sale, Crawford said.

Gonzalez was detained on suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm, carrying a loaded firearm while committing a felony, possessing marijuana with intent to sell and criminal conspiracy. The gun and drug allegations stem from Gonzalez allegedly handing the contraband to the teenager before the boy fled, according to Crawford.

Gonzalez was booked into the Napa County jail, and the teen was booked into the county juvenile hall, Crawford said.
