On Nov. 4, 2013, Marisa Sammabhandh, retired resident of American Canyon since 2012, passed away due to heart failure. She was born on March 13, 1936. Marisa is survived by her only daughter, Kasama Lee, her son-in-law, Barton Lee, her grandsons, Kwin and Ari Lee and sisters in Southern California and Thailand.
During her prime years, she was a radio voice actress and helped manage a local radio station in Bangkok, Thailand. She shared her gift for Thai cooking with so many in her life. She touched many hearts through her authentic love for others regardless of their color, language or faith. Food means love, and that was how she chose to express her love for others.
The celebration of her life will be Saturday, Nov. 16, 2 p.m. at American Canyon Community Church, 2 Andrew Road, American Canyon. Many fond and fun memories of her life will be cherished. Her favorite color is purple, so you are encouraged to wear purple for Marisa. Please email email@example.com to let us know if you plan to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The American Diabetes Association, The American Heart Association, or you may plant a fruit tree in remembrance of her name so the tree will grow, bear fruit and benefit others.
