The Napa Valley Jazz Society will present the Peter & Will Anderson Trio at Silo’s in Napa Sunday, Sept. 24, at 4 p.m.
Among Juilliard’s most distinguished recent alums, these twin brothers demonstrate their skills on a range of reed instruments, from tenor and alto saxophone to clarinet and flute, garnering acclaim for their innovative and tightly coordinated interpretations of jazz classics. Rounding out their Trio is a talented young jazz guitarist who is also widely recognized on the NYC jazz scene, Felix Lemerle.
Peter and Will have been featured with many of today's finest jazz orchestras, including the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Village Vanguard Orchestra, Jimmy Heath Big Band, and on the 2014 Grammy-winning soundtrack of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire. They have headlined at The Blue Note, Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, New Orleans Jazz Festival, Sarasota Florida Jazz Festival, South Carolina’s Jazz Corner, Seattle’s Triple Door, Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center, Washington, D.C.’s Blues Alley, and Arizona Music Festival. Their ensemble has performed in over 40 U.S. States, toured Japan, and has been featured four times in New York's famed “Highlights in Jazz” series, alongside Lou Donaldson, Ken Peplowski, and Warren Vache.
“Luckily, we recognized these emerging talents early, and contracted with them more than a year ago for this performance,” noted show producer and NVJS president Bill Hart. “With the continuing support of our members and sponsors, we are able to offer right in our backyard jazz presentations on a par with top jazz clubs in cities around the world.”
Tickets and reservations may be obtained at www.nvjs.org or by calling (707) 224-JAZZ (5299). Tickets are $25 for NVJS members and $45 for non-members. While the music program will begin at 4, patrons are encouraged to arrive by 3:30 to choose their seats. Ticket priority is given to NVJS members.
Founded in 2009, the Napa Valley Jazz Society is dedicated to presenting live jazz performances of the highest quality in the Napa Valley, and to supporting jazz education.
