November Art in the Library exhibit and reception
The Napa City-County Library invites the public to enjoy the work of artist Rahima Patty Wear. A native of Napa, Rahima became drawn to the beauty of Arabic calligraphy and art after becoming a student of Sufism. Possessing no formal training, she began the practice of Qur’anic calligraphy, which a visual expression of spiritual concepts based on readings from the Qur’an. Ms. Wear uses gouache paints and special pigmented inks, on 100% cotton hot press papers. Her work is on display at the Main Library during the month of November. Art reception on Nov. 6, 6-8 p.m., in the Community Meeting Room, 580 Coombs Street, Napa, CA. Art talk begins at 6:30 p.m. Seating available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
