Jim and Sherilyn (Dawley) Wagner celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, with a surprise party hosted by their daughters at Cattlemen’s Restaurant in Dixon. Numerous relatives and friends were there for the joyous occasion.
Jim and Sherilyn were married on Jan. 31,1958, in Rapid City, S.D. Jim and Sherilyn have three daughters: Susan (Pete) Ribardiere , Debbie (Ronnie) Cole and Sherri (Mick) Doherty. They are also the proud grandparents of Keri and Katie Ribardiere, Lyndsey Bentley and Kevin Donnelley, Brittany and Tyler Lotridge.
Jim retired from Shamrock Materials after 30 years as a cement truck driver. He also owned and operated Wagner Pumping, a concrete pumping business. He drives a bus for Justin-Siena to keep busy. He was a softball coach for Napa Senior Girls Softball League at Kiwanis Park for many years and is fondly remembered as always driving his ‘56 Ford truck with his mascot, Sebastian (an English bulldog), at his side.
Sherilyn was the secretary/bookkeeper for their business and is also retired. She loves going to the movies, shopping and spending time with her daughters. She also loves gardening in her backyard and makes a delicious chocolate cream pie!
They both enjoy spending time with their family and attending their grandchildren’s sporting and school/college events. They also like to travel with frequent trips to South Dakota and Oregon to see relatives. They have traveled to Australia and Europe and have driven over most of the United States.
