Alexander Hamilton II

1938-2017

Alexander Hamilton II passed away peacefully October 3, 2017 at Bailey Manor on Bainbridge Island, Washinton with his wife and daughter by his side. Alex was the oldest of three children of Alexander Hamilton and Ellen Ballentine Hamilton. He was born in San Francisco January 8, 1938. The family resided at Ethelwild, the family property in St. Helena.

Alex was a member of the US Marines and a graduate of San Francisco State University. In 1963, he married Judith Givens. They welcomed a daughter, Stephanie in 1968. Alex and Judy were married for 54 years. He is survived by his wife and daughter as well as five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Alex will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his inquisitive mind. He was described as having the hands of a craftsman and the mind of an engineer. He enjoyed traveling, sailing and Wooden Boats.

There will be a Memorial at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church on Bainbridge Island at 2 pm on December 9, 2017.
