1964—2017 1964—2017 1964—2017 Christopher Jamison Wright passed away on the morning of December 1, 2017, in Elko, Nevada, while returning home from a trip in Sun Valley, Idaho. Chris was born on October 17, 1964, in San Francisco, California. He was the brother of George P. Wright IV, son of Jan and George P. Wright III, and the great grandson of George P. Wright I, former mayor of Tacoma, Washington. Chris grew up in Hillsborough, California. The Wright family moved to Napa in 1978 when Chris’ father took a job with Paine Webber. Chris attended Ridgeview Junior High School, started as a freshman at Napa High School, transferred as a sophomore to Justin Siena High School where he played baseball, and graduated in 1982. Chris was a member of the Rugby team and Sigma Nu Fraternity at UC Berkeley and graduated from the Hass School of Business in 1986. After college, Chris moved back to Napa Valley, where he started work at Paine Webber, continuing the work of his father. Paine Webber later became UBS, and Chris celebrated his 30th Anniversary at UBS in the Spring of 2017. Chris was an avid water and snow skier, loved hunting and fishing, and was competitive in Enduro motorcycle races. Chris loved playing golf and was a member of the Napa Valley Country Club. Chris married Elizabeth “Jeanie” Lucas in July 1992, who also attended UC Berkeley. Chris was the loving father of three bright and beautiful daughters, twins Courtney and Elizabeth (21), and Morgan (15). Chris shared his intelligence, sense of humor, and love of sports with his daughters, providing support at every soccer and lacrosse game, tennis match, and ballet recital. The Wright family enjoyed snow skiing together in Tahoe every winter, and water skiing during the summers on his father’s beloved Chris-Craft. Chris taught Courtney and Elizabeth to ski in Sun Valley, where he spent his final days. Courtney will be graduating from the University of Michigan College of Engineering, and Elizabeth will be graduating from UCLA as a pre-med student in Human Biology, in the spring of 2018. Morgan is a freshman at Vintage High School and member of the Napa Force Lacrosse Team, which Chris assisted in coaching. Chris is preceded in death by his father in 1986 and his brother in 2001. He is survived by his three daughters and his mother of Napa, as well as his aunt Pat Wright Wilson of Seattle, Washington, and various other cousins and relatives. Chris will be laid to rest, alongside his father and brother, at Tulocay Cemetery in Napa, California. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, December 10th at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church at 1917 3rd Street in Napa. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Chris can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in San Francisco, CA, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, the Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY, the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or any charity of your choice.
