Dale passed away Friday, Oct. 27th at his home in Paradise, CA. He was born Oct. 6, 1961 in Sacramento, was 56 years old. He grew up in La Selva Beach & Aptos, CA, Santa Cruz County, graduated from Aptos High School and attended Cabrillo College. He was part of a championship football team at AHS, loved the comradarie of football and the good friends he made there. He had a lifelong passion for disc golf, and was one of the first to play at DeLaVeaga Disc Golf Course in Santa Cruz, starting in 1980, when it just opened. Now, they hold International Disc Golf Tournaments for Pro Players at this beautiful course. He played tournaments at Zephyr Cove/Tahoe, Browns Valley, (Grass Valley), Napa’s Skyline Disc Golf course, Truckee’s, Vacaville, Cotati, Orangevale, Sacramento, Eureka, Chico (up Hwy 32), and others. He played adult softball leagues in SC, Visalia and San Jose, adult basketball leagues in San Jose and Rugby in Visalia and San Jose. Dale was a professional mover with Bekins, United and other moving companies in SC, Napa and Paradise and saw a bit of the US in that career. He lived in Napa for several years, working for North Bay Plywood, Napa, delivering doors and windows throughout Northern California. He ran the Wharf to Wharf Race, a 10K, Santa Cruz to Capitola several times with family. Dale was a lifelong fan of the Giants, and you would usually see him with his Giants ball cap on. He was a 49er faithful, even this year! He enjoyed watching college and pro football, baseball, movies, and rock music. He was a volunteer at Gleaners in Paradise. Our hearts are heavy, he will be sorely missed. There will be a Celebration of Life for Dale on November 18th, 1 pm, at the Center for Spiritual Living, 789 Billie Rd., Paradise, with Reverand Andy Torkelson presiding, a luncheon to follow at the Center. Dale is survived by his mother, Linda “Lyn” Taylor, of Paradise, his brother Don Taylor, sister-in-law, Christa, nephews Jonathan, Joseph Taylor, and niece Erica Taylor all of Chico; father, Herbert Taylor, step-mother Pamela Taylor of Seacliff, CA; an Uncle Neil “Bud” Yepson and his wife, Jody, Aunt Laurie & her husband, Dave Golding all of Napa; Uncle Steve Taylor and his wife, Xuyen, of Susanville; and Uncle Richard Taylor and many other great-nephews and great-nieces. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Neil & Erna Yepson and Arlan & Virginia Taylor all of Napa.
