Dorothy Jean Digardi passed away on December 15, 2017, in Napa at the age of 93. She was born on November 18, 1924, in San Francisco to William and Leatha Erickson. She grew up in Pacific Grove and Concord, where she graduated from Mt. Diablo High School in 1942.
In 1944, Dorothy married her sweetheart Ernie and they embarked on a 73-year journey together. Settling in St. Helena, they raised their three children. Long time St. Helena residents may remember her as the school secretary at Robert Louis Stevenson School during the nineteen sixties; a time she remembered with great fondness. But her greatest passions were spoiling her grandchildren, playing the piano, and cooking large family meals.
Dorothy and Ernie lived in various parts of Northern California, but recently moved to Napa to be close to family.
She is survived by her husband Ernie, her children Dave (Pam), Dan (Kim), and Denise Moffett (Bob), her brother Robert Erickson, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We wish to thank the staff of Nazareth Classic Care in Napa who treated her with compassion and dignity, as well as Kindred Hospice, and especially her nurse Gladys. At her request, there will be no service.
