Ellsworth Allen Fatland, 87, of Napa went to be with the Lord on Oct 3, 2017.

He was known to his family and friends as “Al.”

He was born in Fargo, North Dakota on April 12, 1930. He was the oldest of 3 children born to Peter and Alice Fatland, followed by Paul and Patty.

He met the love of his life Shirley. They married in 1955 and made the Bay Area their home. For the last 47 years Napa has been their home. Shirley was called to the Lord in 2008. Al has volunteered with Hospice of Napa, as an Elder with Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairfield. He enjoyed working out at Synergy in Napa. He always spent time with his granddaughters and his sons; including being the pit boss when his sons did their car racing at the Hill Climbs, of course after he retired from his driving in them.

He is survived by his 3 sons; Stephen and his wife Doris Fatland, David and his wife Cindy Fatland, Ronald Fatland; and his 2 granddaughters; Stephanie and Alesha.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at 1 pm. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Napa, 3521 Linda Vista Ave., Napa, CA.

Private inurnment will be held at Fairmont Memorial Park, in Fairfield.
