Eugene Boyadjieff passed away October 19 in Calistoga after four years of living with cancer. Gene was born August 18, 1946 at the Calistoga Hospital and lived his whole life in Franz Valley outside Calistoga.
From his early years on he knew he wanted to operate heavy equipment. He was a general engineering contractor who was involved in the planning and construction of wineries, vineyards and more throughout the Napa Valley and some in Sonoma.
He attended Calistoga schools, Santa Rosa Junior College and San Jose State University.
Gene leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Lisa, son Casey and wife Joan, stepson Dylan and wife Jody and stepdaughter Tracy. Gene is also survived by grandchildren Scott and Miranda, step grandchildren Matt, Stephen, and Lilly and husband Jeff and son Brody Griffin, brother George and wife Beverly and their children Sandy, Gerry, Lisa and David.
Gene was heavily praised by his employers for his insight into bringing their ideas into fruition. His favorite pastimes were ocean fishing, especially for salmon and rebuilding and tinkering with tractors. He so enjoyed talking with friends and helping with local causes.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Tucker Farm Center, 1201 Tucker Road, Highway 29, Calistoga, on Saturday January 20 from 1:00 to 4:00.
