Gordo graduated from Napa High School in 1970 and went on to attend the California School of Art. He was a talented artist who was especially adept at portraiture. He worked as a psych tech at Napa State Hospital for many years, specializing initially in working with deaf adolescents, signing and interpreting for hospital personnel to facilitate communication between the hearing and hearing impaired. It was work that brought him great satisfaction.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held in the spring.
