Sylvia Tyler lived in Napa Ca. For the last 50 years of her life. At 96 years of age she passed away peacefully on Feb. 14th 2018 at home with family at her side.
Known as the ‘Hydrangea Lady’ of Napa Valley she was a prolific and passionate artist. Well known in the art circles of California her paintings hang in homes throughout the Northwest.
Sylvia had a green thumb and her gardens, flowers and fruit trees reflected it. No one went home empty handed from Sylvia’s house during the season.
Sylvia was a special women, known to many and loved by all. She was afraid of nothing. She faced life with an open heart and an open mind. Her passion for travel and her ability to make friends endured her to everyone she met. Those fortunate enough to know her will always remember her boundless energy and generous heart. She was there for everyone and always put others first.
Born in Big Flat Arkansas to Frank and Ada Balentine. She traveled throughout these United States with her husband Air Force Smsgt. Bill Tyler, who passed away in 1997. She is survived by her five children, Patricia Bondi, William ‘Dick’ Tyler, Mike Tyler, Jim Tyler, and Bob Tyler, a brother Warren Balentine and a sister Betty Treat. Her family includes 10 grand children, and numerous great grand children.
Sylvia had two lives, One as a loving wife and mother and one as an energetic artist, gardener and a friend to all.
