Slow Food Napa Valley will host a Third Wave Coffee and Chocolate Pairing at Yo el Rey Roasting in Calistoga on March 21 from 7-9 p.m. The event includes a discussion about coffee followed by a demonstration roasting, coffee cupping and coffee pairing with chocolates from TCHO, a San Francisco chocolatier.

Yo el Rey proprietor J Kirk Feiereisen will discuss the evolution of American coffee, from supermarket brands to local roasters like Peet’s to the artisanal roasters producing “Third Wave Coffee.”

Located at 1217 Washington St., Yo el Rey is committed to fair trade, organic farming, environmental sensitivity and artisan micro-roasting. Tickets for the event, which include a bag of freshly roasted coffee, are $20 and are available through Brown Paper Tickets. Attendance is limited. You keep saying "Third Wave Coffee" as it had any meaning beyond a self-serving marketing term.
