Historic wineries tour planned for March 21-22

Napa County Historical Society and Napa County Landmarks will host two days of tours, tastings and dining events at historic wineries of the Napa Valley on March 21-22.

The tour focuses on five wineries: Chateau Montelena Winery, Trefethen Family Vineyards, Far Niente Winery, Beaulieu Vineyard and Del Dotto Vineyards. These wineries are the work of Hamden W. McIntyre, who is credited with designing the first gravity-feed wineries in the Napa Valley. There will also be a special visit to Rutherford House, Beaulieu’s grand Craftsman residence, which is being opened especially for this tour.

Lunches will be provided by chef Christopher Kostow of Meadowood Napa Valley and chef Joshua Schwartz, lately of the French Laundry and Bouchon. The ticket price of $425 per person includes winery tastings and tours, transportation and lunches. Tour information is available at NapaHistoryCenter.org.
