The Napa Valley Vintners has appointed two new directors: Patsy McGaughy to communications director and of Teresa Wall to marketing director. Both appointments officially begin on March 1.

“During our search process, it became clear that the ideal communications and marketing director candidates were right here at the NVV,” said Linda Reiff, executive director of the nonprofit trade association representing 450 member wineries. “Both Patsy and Teresa understand the NVV, its programs and objectives and both have extensive understanding of the wine business. We are truly excited to leverage this collective experience and talent to advance our marketing and communications efforts.”

McGaughy, the NVV’s marketing director, has worked there since 2000. Prior to that, she was the organization’s member relations manager. She received her Certified Specialist of Wine designation from the Society of Wine Educators in 2011 and graduated cum laude in communications from CSU Chico.

Before joining the NVV, she worked for an award-winning advertising agency and as production manager for a Lake Tahoe-area newspaper. As the NVV’s marketing director, McGaughy advanced the organization’s “Napa Valley Rocks” education program; helped lead negotiations for Napa Valley’s designation as the official wine region of the 34th America’s Cup; and guided the association’s shift in strategic marketing from primarily events to more of a promotions focus.

During the past five years with the NVV, Wall has been responsible for various aspects of the NVV’s marketing programs including education, trade and consumer initiatives.

She also further developed the NVV’s signature Master Napa Valley and Wine Educators Academy programs for wine trade and educators, as well as being instrumental in Taste Napa Valley market visits.

Wall started her career working for advertising and promotions companies in New York before moving to California to pursue her interest in wine. Once in California, Wall worked in retail, winery marketing and wine label printing positions. Wall has a bachelor of arts in advertising and marketing from Texas Tech University.
